Caritas Australia is the Catholic agency for international aid and development. The agency works with its overseas partners to bring relief and aid to people whose lives have been devastated by natural disaster or conflict.
On December 26, 2004 Southest Asia experienced a series of devastating tsunamis causing the worst natural disaster in modern history. In response to the tsunami, Caritas Australia launched an appeal to offer support and solidarity to those affected by the disaster. This video highlights how the people of Australia through their support of the appeal, have been helping communities in Sri Lanka to begin rebuilding their lives and livelihoods, after the tsunami disaster.
Teacher guidance recommended.
Primary and Secondary teaching activities accompany the Video and DVD.
