Playing Fair is a series of four dramas for 7 - 12 year-olds. Their aim is to spark discussion and thought about racism, as well as respect and equality for all children. Carol’s Mirror is about a young girl interested in playing the lead in her school’s annual play. The only problem is that the school puts on Snow White every year, and Carol is not white. After much lively debate, Carol and her classmates find a solution. This drama challenges the use of Eurocentric materials and shows how prejudice, racism and cultural expectations place limits on what people can do with their lives.
