This book offers teachers a practical introduction to the concept of governance. Using local, national and international examples, it examines what governance is, how it works, and whom it involves. Each of the five units focuses on a particular aspect of governance. Each section presents background material for teachers, case studies, student activities and a variety of student handouts, websites, role plays and OHT masters that give teachers an enormous bank of resources to choose from when tackling the issues presented in this book. The book is written using language appropriate to secondary students and presents concepts and principles in a very easy to understand manner. An extensive listing of websites, organisations, a glossary and bibliography are included.
